Where did October go?
I apologize- I apparently have missed a complete month. A COMPLETE MONTH! Where did Oct. go? Let's see, Morgan continued in dance, Aimee went to band competitions, then there was Halloween. And now it is November! I will post some pictures to cover all that I have mentioned. And I will update you late on in November as well. Bev

No surgery
Well, May was an exciting month. We found out that Bob does not need surgery. This following a grueling 2 weeks for. He underwent a myelogram and CT scan for the doctor to get updated info about his back. The good news was it had not worsened in the 6 months since his MRI. The bad news is that 1 in 200 people get a spinal headache from the myelogram and poor Bob was one of them. The poor man was off his feet and flat on his back for 24 straight hours before I took him back to the hospital for them to do what is called a blood patch. It makes the headache go away. So we thought we were home free. Except Bob went to work the next day, after being told he could but one of his clients made him laugh real hard, and it dislodged the blood patch. So, after another 24 hours of torture, I took him BACK to the hospital for a second blood patch and he has done fine since. Thank goodness. He is scheduled to have an epidural shot of steroids to try and relieve some of ongoing sciatica, but that is as invasive as it will get for him. We will keep you updated.

From Public to Private..some exciting news
After 8 years in the school system, I have made the decision to leave Davidson County, where I have worked at Fairgrove Elementary, Ledford Middle and High, Davis Townsend, Brown Middle and East High. I was offered a full time position as a Speech Pathologist with a company called Cheshire Center out of Greensboro. It was begun by a Speech Pathologist in 1980 and has grown in leaps and bounds since then. I will be working with children from birth to age 5 at early childhood development centers, daycares and at their homes. It will provide me with the opportunity to grow as a Speech Pathologist while losing the constraints of working specific hours and specific days. As long as my clients get seen, I choose my own days and hours. If all works out, I will work Monday through Thursday (and that is with an increase in salary). It is wonderfully exciting and scary. It will be such a change. However, I anticipate that it will be a change that I am so happy I decided to make. I will keep you all updated. My start date is July 1, when I will slowly begin taking on clients until I am up to a full caseload by August. Bev

Update on Bob's Back
For those of you who do not know, my talented hubby hurt his back last summer building our beautiful deck. He ended up having to go through an MRI and we found out he has a slipped (herniated) disc in his lower back. The doctor tried to manage his pain through meds and physical therapy. Bob even had an epidural shot to try and help eleviate his pain, but it has not been enough. Most mornings he wakes up to pain and ends his day in pain.
Sooooo, he is scheduled to meet with a back surgeon on Wednesday to find out what would be involved in having back surgery done. His neurologist has already told him that it is non-invasive, and that recovery is relatively easy, so we are most hopeful this is the answer we have been waiting for. I promise to update everyone as soon as we know what the timeline is for when the surgery will happen.

Is it March already???
I cannot believe 2 months have gone by since my last post!! I will try to be better! We have had a busy 8 weeks, it seems. Morgan had her tonsils removed Valentine's Day, and has made a fabulous recovery. I went up to NY with my mom and dad to visit my grandma, and got to see snow in person that was more than a dusting. It was great- cold- but great! Morgan turns 3 on March 19 and I will post lots of pics from her Care Bear birthday party. Love to all! Bev

Happy New Year!!
For those of you who may not know, December ended with a bang here at the Callicutt residence. I ended up in the hospital on Christmas day, with what we came to find out was a gallbladder attack. It was so significant, I had my gallbladder removed on December 26th in the morning. My parents drove up and helped out immensely, staying until Saturday the 30th. We are forever grateful. All is well. I am recovering very smoothly. I went back to work at the end of last week, as my surgery was done laproscopically. Hopefully 2007 will prove to be much less exciting in the area of health for our family. We wish everyone a Happy and a Healthy 2007. Bev
