Band Competitions

Aimee is a member of the Ledford Panther Regiment this year and they have been traveling everywhere from Southeast Guilford, where they won Grand Champion (Band of the Day) to Dry Fork, Virginia, where they competed this past Saturday, which was there last competition for the season. Enjoy these pics of Aimee- we are so proud of her!!

Everybody's Day in Thomasville

At the end of September, Thomasville hosts a street fair called Everybody's Day. Morgan danced with her friends from their dance studio, which is called N2DANZN (into dancing). She had fun dressing in her cheerleader shorts which were purple and her green and purple shirt.

Where did October go?

I apologize- I apparently have missed a complete month. A COMPLETE MONTH! Where did Oct. go? Let's see, Morgan continued in dance, Aimee went to band competitions, then there was Halloween. And now it is November! I will post some pictures to cover all that I have mentioned. And I will update you late on in November as well. Bev

Morgan dresses up

Bob was laying in bed last week when Morgan caught sight of his pants on the bench. Unknown to him, she decided to try them on. When I came in the room it was too funny for words and she had a blast!!

Happy Birthday to Aimee!

Aimee turned 14 on Sept 1st. We tested her humor at her birthday this year. Morgan is a huge fan of High School Musical and to say it nicely, Aimee is not a fan. Well, when we went to get her a cake, we could not resist playing with her a little as you will see in the pictures. Happy Birthday to Aimee!!

Marching Band

This year Aimee is attending Ledford High school and is participating in Marching band. I have attached 2 pictures from band camp. In one she is clearly seen. In the other she is all the way on the left side of the picture in the background. We love going to the games to watch the band. Morgan is their biggest fan!!

Bob has had his Lasik surgery

Greetings! As some of you know, Bob decided to have Lasik surgery in August. Well, it has been about a month and he has done great. He went in thinking the surgery would be a quick and simple occurrence, but he has such issue with light and his eyes that it proved to be quite a challenge for both him and Dr. Stonecipher. The only really rough time we had was the afternoon and evening after the surgery. Every day after that his sight and how his eyes feel have improved. Here is a pic of my handsome hubby with no more glasses or contacts!! Bev

UNCG Summer Music Camp for Aimee

Aimee is getting ready to begin UNCG Summer Music Camp for the 2nd year in a row, tomorrow. She will be there for a week, overnight, and the camp concludes with a great concert. We cannot wait to see her shine as she becomes more and more adept at playing her clarinet.

July is a busy month

Hello! July always seems to fly by in our household. Bob celebrated his 39th birthday on the 3rd. Then we left for the beach on the 7th and I got to celebrate my 32nd birthday on the 8th. We went and stayed at Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach, at Bob's parents' house there. We had a great time playing on the beach, eating at wonderful restaurants, walking around at Broadway at the Beach and at Barefoot Landing, going to see Ratatouille at the movie theatre at the new mall, visiting the aquarium and just enjoying time together as a family. Even our pooch, Brandy, got to go with us. Enjoy the pics I have posted. Bev

Trip to Georgia 2007

Morgan and I began a tradition and for the last few years we have been traveling to Georgia to visit "Grandma and Grandpa" for about 2 weeks during the summer. This year, unlike in the past, I decided to make it a real adventure and drive. It took 9 hours going and then 9 coming back but Morgan and I had a grand time and it was really easy! We had a great time playing with my parents for 2 weeks and wished we could have stayed longer!!

Bathroom Update

Greetings~ it has been awhile and I apologize. There is lots to update. Bob made killer progress on the new bathroom while Morgan and I visited my parents in Georgia in June. Enjoy the updated pics!

Our new pool

We got a pool and boy did Morgan have fun this weekend swimming with mommy and daddy. Even Adam came over with AmyDawn and baby Hannah to play in the sprinker and swim. We will update with those pictures when I ask AmyDawn to email them to me. :) Here are some highlights of us in the pool.

Dance at LMS

Aimee is getting ready for Ledford Senior High next year and they had a dance at Ledford Middle as the year wound up. Here you see Aimee with her friend Hannah. Morgan also had fun posing with her big sister.

No surgery

Well, May was an exciting month. We found out that Bob does not need surgery. This following a grueling 2 weeks for. He underwent a myelogram and CT scan for the doctor to get updated info about his back. The good news was it had not worsened in the 6 months since his MRI. The bad news is that 1 in 200 people get a spinal headache from the myelogram and poor Bob was one of them. The poor man was off his feet and flat on his back for 24 straight hours before I took him back to the hospital for them to do what is called a blood patch. It makes the headache go away. So we thought we were home free. Except Bob went to work the next day, after being told he could but one of his clients made him laugh real hard, and it dislodged the blood patch. So, after another 24 hours of torture, I took him BACK to the hospital for a second blood patch and he has done fine since. Thank goodness. He is scheduled to have an epidural shot of steroids to try and relieve some of ongoing sciatica, but that is as invasive as it will get for him. We will keep you updated.

Construction at the Callicutt house....a wonderful addition

Hello! My dream for having a bathroom in my bedroom is in the process of coming true.
The view... from top left... looking at the bathroom from the hallway at the back door. Next to it is another picture from the same view. The lower left is a picture looking into what will be the shower, complete with a seat, and then the final view is from my bedroom into my soon to be bathroom.
Bob's project is building a new bathroom that will not only house a toilet and vanity but a walk in shower as well. I am going to post pictures of how it looks now and will update as more work is completed. So exciting! I have the most wonderful hubby in the world!

From Public to Private..some exciting news

After 8 years in the school system, I have made the decision to leave Davidson County, where I have worked at Fairgrove Elementary, Ledford Middle and High, Davis Townsend, Brown Middle and East High. I was offered a full time position as a Speech Pathologist with a company called Cheshire Center out of Greensboro. It was begun by a Speech Pathologist in 1980 and has grown in leaps and bounds since then. I will be working with children from birth to age 5 at early childhood development centers, daycares and at their homes. It will provide me with the opportunity to grow as a Speech Pathologist while losing the constraints of working specific hours and specific days. As long as my clients get seen, I choose my own days and hours. If all works out, I will work Monday through Thursday (and that is with an increase in salary). It is wonderfully exciting and scary. It will be such a change. However, I anticipate that it will be a change that I am so happy I decided to make. I will keep you all updated. My start date is July 1, when I will slowly begin taking on clients until I am up to a full caseload by August. Bev

Update on Bob's Back

For those of you who do not know, my talented hubby hurt his back last summer building our beautiful deck. He ended up having to go through an MRI and we found out he has a slipped (herniated) disc in his lower back. The doctor tried to manage his pain through meds and physical therapy. Bob even had an epidural shot to try and help eleviate his pain, but it has not been enough. Most mornings he wakes up to pain and ends his day in pain.

Sooooo, he is scheduled to meet with a back surgeon on Wednesday to find out what would be involved in having back surgery done. His neurologist has already told him that it is non-invasive, and that recovery is relatively easy, so we are most hopeful this is the answer we have been waiting for. I promise to update everyone as soon as we know what the timeline is for when the surgery will happen.

Bev

Is it March already???

I cannot believe 2 months have gone by since my last post!! I will try to be better! We have had a busy 8 weeks, it seems. Morgan had her tonsils removed Valentine's Day, and has made a fabulous recovery. I went up to NY with my mom and dad to visit my grandma, and got to see snow in person that was more than a dusting. It was great- cold- but great! Morgan turns 3 on March 19 and I will post lots of pics from her Care Bear birthday party. Love to all! Bev

Carolina Bank

Some exciting news for those that have not yet heard. Bob was hired by Carolina Bank, out of Greensboro, to be the Branch Manager of their new High Point Branch. The building was built from the ground up and was completed at the end of December. In today's newspaper, there was a nice brief article introducing the new branch. I have included it for you to take a look at.

Happy New Year!!

For those of you who may not know, December ended with a bang here at the Callicutt residence. I ended up in the hospital on Christmas day, with what we came to find out was a gallbladder attack. It was so significant, I had my gallbladder removed on December 26th in the morning. My parents drove up and helped out immensely, staying until Saturday the 30th. We are forever grateful. All is well. I am recovering very smoothly. I went back to work at the end of last week, as my surgery was done laproscopically. Hopefully 2007 will prove to be much less exciting in the area of health for our family. We wish everyone a Happy and a Healthy 2007. Bev
