Construction at the Callicutt house....a wonderful addition

Hello! My dream for having a bathroom in my bedroom is in the process of coming true.
The view... from top left... looking at the bathroom from the hallway at the back door. Next to it is another picture from the same view. The lower left is a picture looking into what will be the shower, complete with a seat, and then the final view is from my bedroom into my soon to be bathroom.
Bob's project is building a new bathroom that will not only house a toilet and vanity but a walk in shower as well. I am going to post pictures of how it looks now and will update as more work is completed. So exciting! I have the most wonderful hubby in the world!

From Public to Private..some exciting news

After 8 years in the school system, I have made the decision to leave Davidson County, where I have worked at Fairgrove Elementary, Ledford Middle and High, Davis Townsend, Brown Middle and East High. I was offered a full time position as a Speech Pathologist with a company called Cheshire Center out of Greensboro. It was begun by a Speech Pathologist in 1980 and has grown in leaps and bounds since then. I will be working with children from birth to age 5 at early childhood development centers, daycares and at their homes. It will provide me with the opportunity to grow as a Speech Pathologist while losing the constraints of working specific hours and specific days. As long as my clients get seen, I choose my own days and hours. If all works out, I will work Monday through Thursday (and that is with an increase in salary). It is wonderfully exciting and scary. It will be such a change. However, I anticipate that it will be a change that I am so happy I decided to make. I will keep you all updated. My start date is July 1, when I will slowly begin taking on clients until I am up to a full caseload by August. Bev

Update on Bob's Back

For those of you who do not know, my talented hubby hurt his back last summer building our beautiful deck. He ended up having to go through an MRI and we found out he has a slipped (herniated) disc in his lower back. The doctor tried to manage his pain through meds and physical therapy. Bob even had an epidural shot to try and help eleviate his pain, but it has not been enough. Most mornings he wakes up to pain and ends his day in pain.

Sooooo, he is scheduled to meet with a back surgeon on Wednesday to find out what would be involved in having back surgery done. His neurologist has already told him that it is non-invasive, and that recovery is relatively easy, so we are most hopeful this is the answer we have been waiting for. I promise to update everyone as soon as we know what the timeline is for when the surgery will happen.
